About Baylee | |

|
Your new best friend awaits! Baylee is a playful, goofy puppy with a heart full of love and joy! She loves to play with people and other dogs; she's a hit at the dog park, where she greets every new dog and directs them to her friends. Her homecoming greeting is something to behold! She doggy grunts with the cutest happy sounds and wiggles, all for a little love in return. Her personality is submissive with other dogs, preferring to follow their lead once she learns to trust. She loves to run, play fetch, swim, and has even tried kayaking! She's also happy to lounge in the grass and take it all in. She's mastered "sit" and is working hard on "down," and her leash manners are coming along nicely. She's house broken and does her business when asked to go potty.
Baylee enjoys sleeping with her human, loves a lap, and is content to sit on the couch or floor right next to you. She loves car rides and is so relaxed she might even fall asleep! Soft toys and chew toys are her favorites, and she plays well by herself or with others. Baylee has been sleeping in a crate, which she doesn't mind, but she is very excited to get out of it when it's time. She is unsure about cats; she will bark from a distance unless the cat is nosey and walks up to her, in which case she might step back from being a little unsure of what a cat is, but there are zero aggression cues.
Baylee can be fearful of strangers, which sometimes results in barking and lunging. We're working on socialization to help her feel more comfortable around new people. We'd like for her adopter to commit to furthering training to help build her confidence.
PLEASE NOTE: We originally thought Baylee was in heat when she came into our care. After an examination by her vet, they realized she was pregnant, and the puppies were not forming. Therefore, she had to undergo surgery and has since recovered We don’t know if this particular trauma has caused her to be protective when meeting and dogs while on a lead. She was adopted and lived in an apartment where she had a tendency to bark at noises. and the neighbors were not happy. We will prioritize a single-family home with someone who is committed to continue her training and building confidence.
*Baylee's adoption fee is $250
More about Baylee
Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.
