Hello, I’m Theodore, but you can call me Teddy.

I was discovered outside, all alone, and brought to my local shelter for hold while the hoomans searched for my family. No one came forward and I did not like being in the shelter, so after my stray hold was over, my new friends reached out to CVRR to see if there was a foster home available for me. I packed my bags and travelled to my foster home.

I am a very shy/timid boy who is still learning the world around me and how to be a pet. I warm up very quickly with lots of love, pets, and ear scratches. I love to snuggle on the couch and take naps on the comfy rug where I can really stretch out! I’m estimated to be around 5 months old and best guess is I am some sort of hound/American pitbull mix. I currently weigh in around 32.8 pounds and will likely be a big boy hitting somewhere around the 60pound+ mark in adulthood. Also, I look like a reverse tiger with my beautiful brindle coat, it’s really cool!

I am unbelievably calm and well behaved and I am SO SMART! I’ve already figured out how to alert that I need to potty. I am well mannered and walk beautifully on a leash - no pulling or biting the leash at all! I don’t particularly care for going into a crate but once I’m in there, I am quiet and will go to sleep right away. I learned what you mean when you say “Teddy, come here!” and I respond right away. I have also already pretty much figured out what “sit” means too! I have two grown ups and a teenager living with me. As I mentioned, I am a little shy at first but show me some love and I will warm right up! I haven’t been around small children yet, but my calm nature means I would probably do really well with any size kiddo, especially if they like to snuggle on the couch!

I am very gentle with toys but have a hard time deciding which one to play with, so I like to take them all out of the toy basket and arrange them on the floor around me so that I can give attention to each of them.

I currently live with other large dogs and get along with them with ease. I haven’t been around smaller dogs or cats yet, but as gentle as I am, I would likely see them all as friends, especially if they are nice and want to play with me.

I can’t wait to meet my forever family!

Love,

Teddy

Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/.

The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care.

Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy.

We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter.

CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract.

CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.
