They don’t come much better than Demi. She and her siblings were hand raised from 10 days old in a loving, fun, well-socialized home. She has known nothing but love and kindness from her human and fur family. She has two foster sisters that adore her; one teaches her all the fun (read: naughty) things in life, the other all the manners she will ever need. 

Demi is crushing housetraining and seldom has an accident that isn’t her human’s fault. She walks beautifully on a leash for a pup her age and enjoys a good walk with her pack daily. She is comfortable in a crate and will get in on her own (with a reward, of course!). She is wonderful around other dogs and has been around numerous since day one; she has appropriate play and cautiousness. She is a laidback, easy-going girl. People often comment on her gentle, calm demeanor.

Now this isn't to say that she isn’t all puppy at times, too; she has her moments and “puppy fits” and is certainly in the teething phase of puppyhood, but she is easily corrected & redirected. Demi also LOVES her people. She is a loyal girl through and through and wants to be where they are. Admittedly, she has been the product of a "work from home covid style" foster family and has reaped the rewards of such… lots of time, love, attention, and exercise!!

Demi's ideal home will be one that is fairly active (daily walks) and often at home, or one that wishes to include her more often than not in activities and has a dog companion or two for her to romp around with and continue to learn all the things a puppy should know. She is more than just a dog and is looking for a home that will treat her as such; it's guaranteed she will reward you beyond measure in return. 

Bottom line: Demi is perfect. We want her forever family to be, too! Demi is located in Richmond.

Demi's adoption fee is $250.

The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care.

Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy.

We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter.

CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract.

CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.
