This is a courtesy post for our friends at Flat Creek Pet Care.  Applicants will be screened by their staff and approved at their discretion.  
 

Lexi is a 3-4 year old spayed Rottweiler. She is a very energetic girl! She is trained to walk politely on a prong collar and knows basic commands, as well as a couple tricks. She loves playing frisbee and being near her people. Lexi likes other dogs but does have a tendency to play rough (she doesn’t quite understand how big she is) and she has resource guarded both toys and food. The main reason we would like to find Lexi the perfect family is because she wants to be with someone 24-7 and enjoys being at home, in her space, more than going on adventures. She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard, where her person is a someone who appreciates Rotties and all of their quirks/energy and who is home more often than not. She does fine being crated overnight but if you’re moving about in the house she would much rather be hanging with you and she’s quite vocal about sharing those feelings. She is up to date on rabies and distemper.

The adoption fee for this dog is $175.00 which helps to cover a portion of the care provided, including: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, deworming, age appropriate vaccinations: DHLP/P, Bordetella, Rabies, and any medical care received while with CVRR.  All animals are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care.

CVRR is a nonprofit organization, we have no paid staff. Applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks and follow-up questions.   You can expedite the process by providing phone and email info for all your references.  

Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the dog picks you too.  If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed.  The adoption fee helps to cover a portion of the care provided to the animals.   By the time of adoption all dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vetting.

CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out the animal is to be returned to CVRR.   We will re-evaluate and choose a new home based on the best fit for that particular animal.

Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy.

We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter.
