Dixie is one of the most people centric, endearing dogs I have ever met. She is very gentle, a little shy and very eager to please. She is a spayed female BC mix around 18 months old and lived exclusively in an outdoor kennel before coming into her foster home.  she is not yet 100 percent house trained but getting close.  She is crate trained and for the most part quiet. Unlike many border collies she is not 109 percent GO all the time and does like to snuggle and lounge around. She would excel at any dog sport she tried if she could gain a little confidence.  Dixie ignores the resident cats and is fine with most all dogs (except one who picks with her).  She is invisible fence trained and learned it in a day.

The adoption fee for this Dixie is 175 or 300 for the pair of sisters (Avery)   is $300.00 which helps to cover a portion of the care provided, including: spay/neuterMorning , microchip, heartworm testing, deworming, age appropriate vaccinations: DHLP/P, Bordetella, Rabies, and any medical care received while with CVRR.  All animals are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care.

OoCVRR is a nonprofit organization, we have no paid staff. Applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks and follow-up questions.   You can expedite the process by providing phone and email info for all your references.  

Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the dog picks you too.  If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed.  The adoption fee helps to cover a portion of the care provided to the animals.   By the time of adoption all dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vetting.

CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out the animal is to be returned to CVRR.   We will re-evaluate and choose a new home based on the best fit for that particular animal.

If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy.

We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter.
