5/30/19 I was asked how Marshall would do with a one year old. Well he’s done fantastic with everyone he has met at every age. Above is a picture of my granddaughter feeding him a Teddy Graham. He gently took it from her and she fell in love with him.
4/29/19 Here’s an update on our friend Marshall. He is thriving and loving the country life. He still hasn’t met a stranger or any living being he doesn’t like. He plays outside and sleeps so good at night in his crate or in the bed when I let him. He’s such a gentleman. He's still looking for his forever home!
Meet Marshall Tucker! We don't know much about his past history, but he appears well adjusted as if someone loved him before. He’s reportedly an 8 year old Great Dane mix but he is very active for his reported age with very little wear on his teeth for that number of years. We think he looks more like a 5-7 year old. He came to us very lean and has a ways to go before he’s at a healthy weight. Weighing around 60lbs now he should weigh around 75 but we are working on that. When he hears his name he comes running and like most large breeds, doesn’t know he’s a “big dog”. He gallops through the house like the resident two pound chihuahua and plays with the resident puppy like they are the same size. When outside he runs like there is no tomorrow. Yet, he has a very laid back disposition, wonderful manners, and is gentle. He would love to meet you!

This dogs adoption fee is $175 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordetella (age appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all care received while with CVRR. All animals are on flea and tick and parasite prevention for the duration in foster care. We are an all volunteer group, who process the applications so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone and email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process . We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the dog picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed. The adoption fees help cover a portion of the care provided to the animals. All dogs and cats adopted out are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and fully vetted. **All of our animals have a lifetime commitment. If for any reason, the adoption does not work out, the cats and dogs are to come back to CVRR, which is a NO kill rescue.*** The foster family and the rescue volunteers will choose the new home based on the best fit for the dog/cat.

Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.
