05/28/19 Update:
Luna has been with me for over a year now, and I feel like I have a pretty good feel for her these days. Here's the basics:
- Luna is a 6ish year old American Bulldog/Lab mix. She has medium-length soft white fur and ranges about 60-70lbs.
- Luna has seizures. They don't appear to be a symptom of anything else, just an ongoing condition. She takes 4 meds, twice a day. They cost between $50-60 a month, depending on how good you are at finding deals on goodrx.com!
- Luna will eat your cat or small animal. Please don't risk it, she's got a rap sheet with little non-dog animals.
- She LOVES all size of dogs, although she snarls when she plays, so she scares some away. She has never so much as scratched my resident dog, but she sounds like she's going to eat her playmates when she gets excited.
- Luna loves every person she's ever met. She jumps when she forgets herself (she knows to sit for attention, but she also knows lots of people she meets don't know her rules) but it's because she just wants to be loved.
- She ESPECIALLY loves men. Women are all fine and good and she'll snuggle with you, but be prepared to be immediately traded in when your brother/father/boyfriend/son comes to visit.
- She loves children and tries to be gentle, but she can be rude when startled/grabbed/poked suddenly, so respectful, older or very well supervised children are best.
- Luna loves routine and predictability. Every time someone comes or goes from her life she makes it known that she doesn't appreciate it. New places sometimes come with hunger strikes, and she's nervous when she realizes a change is more than just a day trip of an adventure. Please be ready to give her a few weeks to really bond to you and feel safe.
- Luna is a bulldog mix, and she has some of the sassiness to prove it. Without an occasional reminder she may tend to take over the house, so be prepared to keep some boundaries or she can adapt quickly to being the queen bee!
Overall, Luna is hilarious, adorable, so soft and such a love. She won't often come to ask for love, but when she does, that just makes it all the more precious. She loves laying out in the sun and judging my neighbors from her spot on my tiny second floor porch. She'd love a spot outside where she can keep an eye on people occasionally, although she certainly loves sleeping on the cool floor when she's worn herself out. She's loyal, sweet, ridiculous and so physically awkward. She needs the right home, but if you have it for her you'll have a best friend for life. Do you have the perfect spot in your heart for Lunabug?
This dogs adoption fee is $175 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (age appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR. All animals are on flea and tick and parasite prevention for the duration in foster care. We are an volunteer group, who process the applications so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone and email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process . We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the dog picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed. The adoption fees help cover a portion of the care provided to the animals. All dogs and cats are microchipped and all animals adopted out are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. **All of our animals have a lifetime commitment. If for any reason, the adoption does not work out, the cats and dogs are to come back to CVRR, which is a NO kill rescue.*** The foster family and the rescue volunteers will choose the new home based on the best fit for the dog/cat.

More about Luna *Goofy and Outgoing*
Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.
