Update: She knows then to play and w hen to rest, she is house trained and fantastic with all the animals...even the senior Doxie. She adores the resident kiddo and tested well with cats. ....yet here she waits. Not one single well matched application for a dog who would excel in nearly any home!
Her foster family would like to see her paired with either a fenced home or a human partner active enough to work off some standard youngster energy, but beyond that her needs are pretty standard. Love and a second chance.
Update: I didn't realize when I volunteered to foster Iris that she was a Pitt mix. I must confess if I had realized this before we took her I don't know if I would have. But she has made a believer out of me. Any adopter who is willing to look past all the negative stereotypes associated with the breed is in for a very pleasant surprise. I'm really glad Ive had the opportunity to get to know her. She is a really terrific dog.
She is good with dogs and kids. She is very playful. She would love a home with another canine companion to play with or someone who will take her to the dog park. I think she would do best with a fenced yard. She has excellent house manners and is impeccably house trained. She doesn't get on furniture or counter surf. She seldom barks. She does like to chew a lot but as long as she has plenty of toys she never bothers anything that's not hers. She loves kids of all ages but may accidentally knock over a smaller toddler.
Update: Iris is back with CVRR due to family sitution. Iris is house broken and crate trained. She is good with children as well. She has not been in a home with other dogs or cats since October, but when she was with them she did fine with other animals. She is a sweet, outgoing girl still looking for a forever permanent home. Here's a short YouTube video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=09ZMAIiSqMk
Iris came into foster care right as a rainbow popped out and thus her name. She is good with the resident pack of dogs and cats. She is a sweetie. She will be spayed 9/22/16. We were told she was a Great Dane mix (and she could be), she looks more pointer to us. But she could be Great Dane with something small. At 1 year she is 40 pounds. Iris is house and crate trained and has lived with small children most of her nights she has age appropriate energy and is vey outgoing and lovable
This dogs doption fee is $175 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR. All animals are on flea and tick and parasite prevention for the duration in fostercare. We are an volunteer group, who process the applications so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone and email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process . We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the dog picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed. The adoption fees help cover a portion of the care provided to the animals. All dogs and pups are microchipped and all animals adopted out are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. **All of our animals have a lifetime commitment. If for any reason, the adoption does not work out, the cats and dogs are to come back to CVRR, which is a NO kill rescue.*** The foster family and the rescue volunteers will choose the new home based on the best fit for the dog/cat.

Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.
