Roxie is a small little girl. She is around 16 pounds and is a Schnauzer with some type of Terrier mix. She is super sweet, loves to snuggle and be around the dogs and cats in the home. She is WIDE open and loves to play. She will need training and assistance but she will make a great dog. She does not appear to have been a house dog before and will need assistance with house training and crate training (which her foster mom has already begun). She is 4 months old, so we estimate her being around 32-40 pounds full grown.

Update:  Roxie Hart is a 4.5 month old schnauzer mix. She is one of the sweetest puppies I've ever met as she absolutely loves to be around people. Especially children! So far,in my house, she has gotten along amazing with everyone. She is tested and approved with other dogs, cats, and even a ferret! She has a great demeanor with all creatures she meets. She is currently working on house and crate training and is starting to get the hang of it but she will need reminders every so often to go out to potty as sometimes she is playing and forgets! With that said, she has made great progress and is having less and less accidents every day. Roxie would probably do best in a home that could give her proper play and attention. She seems best fit for a family that has children that could keep her entertained or with a family that is active or had a fenced in yard. Roxie is only about 16 pounds. Don't let the pictures fool you; she's actually very small! She's all legs. She's much smaller in person than pictures make it seem! Even though Roxie can be energetic, she is great at knowing when it's time to settle down and take a nap. She understands a balance of play and rest. Roxie would be a wonderful family addition, and I'm sure would prove her love and loyalty over and over again! If you want a new snuggle buddy and someone that loves going on car rides and visiting new places, this is your gal.

This dogs doption fee is $225 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR.  All animals are on flea and tick and parasite prevention for the duration in fostercare. We are an volunteer group, who process the applications so please be patient and  understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions.   You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone and email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process .    We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the dog  picks you too.  If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed.  The adoption fees help cover a portion of the care provided to the animals. All dogs and cats are microchipped and all animals adopted out are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. **All of our animals have a lifetime commitment. If for any reason, the adoption does not work out, the cats and dogs are to come back to CVRR, which is a NO kill rescue.*** The foster family and the rescue volunteers will choose the new home based on the best fit for the dog/cat.

The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care.

Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy.

We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter.

CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract.

CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.
